Talking Sticks |
Talking sticks were used traditionally during tribal meetings. The person holding the stick was allowed to speak his piece, express his thoughts to the group and all others had to listen. No one was allowed to speak until it was their turn with the stick, as it was passed around the circle. Today it's used as a valuable tool by families, classrooms, scout groups and at other types of meetings. It teaches listening skills, as well as encourages those who wish to speak to organize their thoughts since they may only have one chance. The talking sticks are made from either driftwood or agave flower stalks that have been sanded, finished with a clear glossy coat of polyurethane, and decorated with leather, feathers & beads.
